Mt. Elgon Crusade August 9-11, 2013 Well, it was a great weekend in the mountains of Mt. Elgon. We started out on Friday after a breakfast of roasted corn and boiled peanuts. TIA. Wow!!!!! What a weekend. We got up early Thursday (8/8/13) and headed to Kampala where we spent the night with my friends Caleb and Peace. It was nice to see them again. They are the ones I stayed with for a month while I was getting my banking, phone and Internet straighten out. Well, I’m breaking new ground for time in Africa! I’ve been here for 6 weeks! Some of my days are crazy busy but then some days are very slow and laid back, which is good. It’s giving me time to get some reading done. I’m slowly getting used to things here. I now go into Mbale by myself to hang out, do a little shopping, and walk around trying to get to know the town and some of the people….
It’s around 11:00 Wednesday morning here. I just got back home from speaking at a school close to Bishop’s house. It was about a mile away so we had a nice morning walk. Whew, Sunday was a long day. We left home for a 2 mile bodaboda (motorcycle) ride just to get a taxivan to go another 20 miles to get to the Bumatofu church.
